Plain-English summary

  • We store your account info, spaces, stashes, and things so the app works.
  • When you use AI Put Away, your photos go to Anthropic’s Claude API for identification. Anthropic processes them solely to generate results and does not use them to train AI models. Photos you choose to save as part of a stash are stored by Stash so you can view them later.
  • We do not sell your personal information to third parties or use it for advertising.
  • Your data stays yours — even if you cancel, you can export or delete it at any time.
  • If you own a shared space, deleting your account transfers ownership to another member — your contributions to that space are not deleted.
  • You can delete your account directly from the app’s Profile settings, or by emailing hello@juststash.it.

1. Who we are

Stash (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is the operator of this service. You can reach us at hello@juststash.it.

2. What we collect

We collect only what we need to provide the service:

  • Account information — your name and email address when you sign up.
  • Content you create — spaces, rooms, stashes, things, labels, and notes you add to the app.
  • Photos processed for AI identification — when you use AI Put Away, photos are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API solely to generate identification results. Anthropic processes those photos to generate a response and does not use them to train AI models.
  • Photos you choose to save — if you save a photo as part of a stash or thing record, that photo is stored by Stash so you can view and manage it later. These are distinct from photos temporarily processed by AI.
  • Usage data — scan counts and subscription status, used to enforce plan limits.
  • Device information — basic diagnostics (device type, OS version) for crash reporting.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide, operate, and improve Stash.
  • To send transactional emails (invite notifications, password resets) via Resend.
  • To enforce subscription limits and process payments (once billing is live).
  • To respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties and do not use your data for advertising purposes.

4. Shared spaces

When you join a shared space, other members of that space can see the stashes and things within it. Your personal spaces and things outside that shared space remain private to you. Space owners can remove members at any time. Members lose access to shared content immediately upon removal.

If you own a shared space and delete your account, ownership of that space is automatically transferred to another member before your account is removed — editors are given priority over viewers, and among members of equal role the longest-standing member is chosen. Stashes, things, and other content within that space transfer to the new owner and are not deleted along with your account. This means content you contributed to a shared space will remain in the app under the new owner after yours is removed.

5. Sub-processors

We use the following third-party services to operate Stash:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (servers in the US).
  • Vercel — web hosting and edge functions.
  • Anthropic (Claude API) — AI-powered item identification. Photos sent for AI Put Away are processed in the US solely to generate identification results and are not used to train AI models.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • RevenueCat (upcoming) — subscription and in-app purchase management.

6. Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile section of the app. If you prefer, you can also request deletion by emailing hello@juststash.it from the address associated with your account. Upon deletion, your personal content — personal spaces, stashes, things, and photos not associated with a shared space — is removed from active systems within 30 days, with backups retained for a limited period as required for operational purposes.

Content within shared spaces you owned is not deleted when your account is closed. As described in Section 4, that content transfers to the new space owner and remains in the app. If you want shared space content removed before closing your account, you should delete that content manually or delete the space itself from within the app beforehand.

You can request a copy of your data at any time by emailing the same address.

7. Cookies and tracking

The Stash mobile app does not use cookies. The website (juststash.it) uses only essential cookies required for authentication. We do not use analytics tracking cookies or advertising pixels.

8. Children’s privacy

Stash is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights including access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, and the right to erasure. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@juststash.it. We respond to all requests within 30 days.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you by email or via an in-app notice. Continued use of Stash after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
